On August 17th, the IRS
announced significant changes in the 4506 (tax transcript) program. Effective October 1st, 2006
we have the ability to retrieve tax documents electronically, thereby
eliminating significant production costs.
This new process will speed the return of tax data (in many cases
resulting in same-day service) and represents an increase in overall
efficiency by eliminating the need for courier and scanning/encryption
processes.
As a result of these enhancements, the IRS has imposed a $4.50 surcharge
per tax year requested.
While other 4506 providers are passing along the full IRS surcharge
and generating additional profit from the costs savings,
Credit Technologies is maintaining all current pricing. We will monitor
the new streamlined process to determine any actual cost increase after
improvements in efficiency are known. We will then pass along only the
actual costs increase to our clients which we expect will be much less
than the $4.50 per year IRS surcharge.
The ordering process remains
unchanged. For our corporate clients simply complete and fax the
coversheet and completed 4506T form(s) to 800.775.5689.
4506 charges will be appended to the consumer credit report (if a
credit report was created) or simply billed to your Credit Technologies
